All regular expressions in Prometheus use RE2 syntax. Palo Alto Networks Cortex XCOR supports RE2 syntax compatibility with Prometheus for queries using regular expressions in the following areas:
Regular expression syntax and glob syntax are not interchangeable. Cortex XCOR supports only one of these query matching patterns in supported areas of the product. For example, drop rules support glob syntax, whereas recording rules support regular expression syntax.
Because the implementation of this parser is customized, the syntax might vary in some instances.
