# Enable telemetry egress

> Control which telemetry types the CXDOT Collector sends to Cortex XCOR.

Telemetry egress controls whether the CXDOT Collector can send each type of telemetry
data to Palo Alto Networks Cortex XCOR. If an enabled integration collects a type of
telemetry data whose egress is disabled, the CXDOT Collector won't send that data
from the integration to Cortex XCOR.

Egress for metrics is enabled by default, but egress for logs and traces is disabled
by default.

<Note>
  Enabling egress for a telemetry type doesn't configure a telemetry source. After
  you enable egress, [configure integrations](/ingest/xcor/collector/configure/integrations)
  to collect telemetry data.
</Note>

To enable or disable egress for each telemetry type, update your Helm values file
or configuration file:

    ```yaml title="values.yaml" theme={null}
    config:
      egress:
            logs:
              enabled: true
            metrics:
              enabled: true
            traces:
              enabled: true
    ```
  </Tab>

            traces:

    ```
